COVID REGIONAL MICROENTERPRISE RECOVERY ASSISTANCE PROGRAM
In response to the economic impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, the Town of Dennis in Barnstable County and the Towns of Martha’s Vineyard: Edgartown, Oak Bluffs, Vineyard Haven, West Tisbury, Chilmark, Aquinnah in Dukes County; are working in conjunction with TRI-The Resource Inc. and the MA Department of Housing and Community Development (DHCD) in providing a Microenterprise grant/forgivable loan program in support of the continued operation or re-opening of microenterprises that are dealing with the negative economic impact of the COVID 19 pandemic. The goal of this program is to make funds available to microenterprises that have been negatively impacted due to circumstances related to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Microenterprise Assistance (forgivable loans) to micro businesses with 5 or fewer employees (including the owner)
The owner's household income must be less than 80% of the HUD median income.
Loans of up to $10,000 for business expenses. Can be used for the following:
(payroll, salaries, health care, rent, mortgage, inventory, utilities, equipment and working capital). Not eliglble for repairs, building or to expand your business.
Forgivable after issued as long as business provides documentation that the funds have been spent in line with the presented budget and the owner certifies that they have not received nor will they receive funds for these expenses from other funding programs.

BASIC ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA
-A microenterprise (5 or fewer employees including owner) at date of application
-Income Eligible Owner(s)
-A for-profit entity (sole proprietorships, partnerships, corporations, cooperatives, or LLCs)
-Legitimately licensed commercial enterprises
-Have a physical establishment in the city/town of application or in at least one of the regional participant city/towns
-Business must be currently in operation and have been established prior to 1/1/2019
-Not permanently closed, out of business, filed for bankruptcy
-Provide goods or services to multiple clients or customers
-Be current on all taxes (state and municipal) due through 3/1/2020 (or have a workout plan)
-Valid state/municipal licenses/registrations
-Not a party to litigation involving the state or municipality
-Owned by person over the age of 18
-Not eligible -excluded business types are: real estate rentals/sales; chains; liquor stores; weapons/firearms dealers; lobbyists; cannabis-related businesses
-Documents that business COVID loss (prior to March 10, 2020) is greater than or equal to assistance request

Sign forgivable loans forms and provide any other information if needed.
Funding will be release to you.
Provide documentation that funding was spent per loan agreement within 90 days of receipt of funds for loan forgivability.
